This peninsula located 1,400 Km to the south of Buenos Aires and it projects into the sea forming two gulfs of sheltered waters. The peninsula is a meeting point for the southern right whales, which arrive here to complete their breeding cycle between May and December. In the northern part of the Peninsula the world's most important southern sea elephant continental breeding colony can be found.
Located on the shores of the Beagle Channel, Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world. There you can visit its World's End and Maritime museums – an old prison – and enjoy its natural surroundings.
