Morro de Sao Paulo is all that one would imagine of a tropical paradise; Located in the island of Tinhare, a 15-minute flight from Salvador's airport, Morro has some of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil. The town is dominated by a lighthouse and the ruins of a colonial fort- a place for beautiful sunsets and where dolphins jumping through the waves can be seen. Traditionally a peaceful fishing village, Morro de Sao Paulo is literally "on fire" during the following days after Carnaval, known among locals as Ressaca (hangover time). During this period the small village gets packed with tourists and Baianos alike looking for a few extra days of fun as well as relaxation.
