This archipelago and nature paradise was discovered in 1503 by the Portuguese explorer Amérigo Vespucci and a few scattered remains of the early Portuguese fortifications still exist - Forte dos Remédios is one of them. Apart from the thousands of migratory birds that stop off at the island on their way south, the waters surrounding the island are filled with hundreds of playful dolphins, turtles, multi-colored fish, corals, sponges and other marine plants. It is no wonder, therefore, that Fernando de Noronha is considered the best place for scuba diving and snorkeling in Brazil. As well as excellent underwater activities, Fernando de Noronha is also the mecca for Brazilian surfers who come to ride the 2 meter (6 feet) waves (sometimes reaching as high as 5 meters or 15 feet) on the sandy beaches facing Brazil´s Atlantic coast. Horseback riding, mountain biking and walking to some of the remoter beaches is also popular. The Morro do Pico is the highest point on the island at 321 meters (1,053 ft) and offers a splendid view of the archipelago, especially at sunset. The island has warm and pleasant temperatures of around 26°C (79°C ) all year round.

Day-by-day Itinerary

Day 1

You will arrive in Fernando de Noronha and our guide will meet you inside the Island tax paying area (the island tax is included in your package price) and then take you to the Pousada Zé Maria. You will then be taken by a private English-speaking guide in your rented buggy on the island tour. This tour will show you the entire island, so that you can better explore your favorite sites the following days of your trip. We suggest you have dinner at Ekologicus, a seafood restaurant near the port. After dinner, you will no doubt want to relax and prepare for day 2 of your Fernando de Noronha experience.

Day 2

On your second day on the island you will follow the Sancho Trekking Trail to see the dolphins returning to their resting bay in the morning. We suggest lunch at the Dolphin Hotel. Then, in the afternoon you will be taken on a boat ride which covers the inner sea of the island. There is good chance of seeing the island's famous Spinner Dolphin as they depart their bay on their way to high sea for feeding. We recommend dinner at the Italian restaurant - Morena.

Day 3

Today you will do the Acquasub tour in the morning. This is a snorkeling activity where you are slowly pulled behind a boat with other Snorkelers. It is designed to allow you to snorkel covering longer distances. It is an activity you must experience. Our lunch suggestion for today is the Cantinho do Porto at the harbor, which has great fresh tuna and pasta dishes. The afternoon is free for you to relax and do what you want. Tonight why not try dinner at your pousada. Pousada Zé Maria is famous for its delicious dishes designed by a Cordon Bleu chef.

Day 4

A 3-hour horseback ride awaits you this morning. You will be given a choice of a variety of trails, depending on your preference and your experience. The trails are either through mountains or along beaches. We suggest lunch at Nascimento, which has a variety of different cuisines. The afternoon is free. You might want to relax at your pousada, on the beach or go back and visit one of your favorite spots on the island in the rented buggy. We suggest dinner at Tartarugão Restaurant.

Day 5

Today the morning is free to spend as you wish, relaxing at the pousada, driving to visit one of your favorite beaches or perhaps going for a walk along the spectacular island cliffs. We suggest you lunch at Bar do Museu do Tubarao, which is famous for its deep fried shark appetizers. This afternoon you will be taken on a dive trip, leaving your pousada at 2pm and returning at 5pm. The tour will embark from the main port, where you will be taken by boat to 2 different dive locations. You will have the opportunity to see a marvelous array of beautiful marine life, for which Fernando de Noronha is famous. Baptism Dives (for non-certified divers with a private instructor) are also available. You will be taken by boat to a suitable location, with a shallower depth, and will spend a maximum of 30 minutes under the water.

Day 6

On your last day on this beautiful island paradise you will go snorkeling with sea turtles at Sueste Beach. The tidal pools are clear turquoise blue and full of marine life. This is one of the few places where a colony of white sea urchins can be seen (the colony is located on the right side of the bay by the remains of the old port). We suggest you lunch at your pousada today, because at 3pm you will be picked up and taken to the airport.
