Easter Island, ChileEaster Island is the most isolated land on the planet, with its 3.700 kilometers from the South American continent. This isolation, give it the nickname of worlds-navel by the inhabitants of the island. With its triangular shape, this small island, only 180 kms2, and close to 3.000 people, can be cross over on a day. The main tourist attraction of the island is the Moai, some of these figures, still unfinished, rest on the hillsides and quarries. The quarry of "Gorro" and some caves are near by the town of Hanga Roa and the Anakena beach, which remind us of the polynesian beaches and coconut palm trees. Leaving Santiago and crossing the Pacific Ocean, for about 4 hours, you will arrive to this beautiful island. |
