PatagoniaThis region stretches out from the southern part of Puerto Montt to the Island of Tierra del Fuego. The colonization period was long and dangerous, due to the extreme weather conditions. The rain season, the low temperatures and the cold wind, makes this part of the world one of the hardest and severe places to live. Due to its conditions, it is often called the "green desert", name given by the explorer Charles Darwin. |
